Just in case you didn't know it I've been on unemployment for a bit...Well not anymore, seems I fall through a crack by virtue of when I got laid off...Although I was told at that time I had 88 weeks coming I really didn't and I got cut off as of tomorrow after 26 weeks. That will be my last check unless the wonderful Senate reauthorizes the EUC. The Party of NO thinks we should go out and work...not that there are any jobs out there but who gives a shit right???
I have been active in looking for work and I do have an interview tomorrow. I might break even with unemployment with overtime...I will be taking a job where I am making $10.00 an hour less than what I was making. I hope that satisfies the Republican Senators. If I don't I stand to lose everything I have. In two weeks I need to make another Mortgage payment...wish me luck cause right now it's not happening...

It's just the Internet!

I hate those four words. I heard them again recently in referal to someone dear to me. It's just the internet. What they feel doesn't matter. This infers that because the person they are chatting with/following, is something less than human. The fact that they can't touch, hear or see them devoids their existance as people. That because it's just the internet these people don't deserve to have feelings. That they can't be hurt by the actions of others. This is such a blind view of the world. After all it's just words or actions on a screen. That can't hurt anyone! There is nothing further from the truth. Words and deeds can indeed hurt, yes, even over the internet. What's the difference between The internet and real life? It's still people behind the screen. They live, laugh, cry and die just like the people around you in your life. They can be hurt deeply by your words. they can also be uplifted by your caring and love.

For 8 years I have had a relationship with someone over the internet. It's had it's up and downs. We've met face to face several times and the love we share is just as valid on the internet. The internet for the time being is our home, so for us It's not just the internet. It's so much more than that. It's where we share our days and nights together. It's where we share the love we have for each other, with others. It's our house, without which we would not exisit. When someone enters your house and trashes it. What do you do? You reject those that trashed your house. In time you may forgive them, but you never forget what they have done. Forgiveness also requires some remorse by the party who trashed your house. They need to see that trashing your house, no matter how good they feel their reason is, is an unkind and hurtful thing. Apologies are necessary for any forgiveness to occur. Some people see themselves as being so right that they have no need to apologise. I pity them for they will never understand what they have wrought, or the pain they have caused. It's just the Internet yeah...

Are We numb to the recent murders?

No, I am not. Frankly, I just don't know what to say anymore. I'm tired of arguing with people about the ease of getting guns, the proliferation of guns, and what we can do about it. As a human being, it stuns and saddens me what has been going on in this country the last few years and especially recently. I just don't know anyway to stop it from happening. I really don't think the founders ever intended for this to happen, or that they intended us to walk in fear of our fellow countrymen. I believe right thinkers that they were they would have done something about it and fast. We are so hogtied by the second amendment these days that we can't see the forest for the trees. I know what they would have said. Guns for a militia, and hunting implements only besides that. They would have outlawed handguns as well as assault rifles as only a militia or police would have the need. They were not fools not one iota. We've taken what they written and bastardized it to suit any ones needs for any purpose. The NRA will tell you Guns don't kill, people do...BULLSHIT...Guns kill they have one purpose, TO KILL. Whether it be ducks, deer or humans they still are only meant to kill.

As times get more difficult, we are going to see a huge rise in these incidents. A huge rise. We've come to believe that the only way to solve our problems is by looking down the barrel of a gun. It's how we deal with nations we don't like or agree with or that might just have WMD. Why not our neighbor, or to get back at the ex, or to anyone we feel has wronged us. We do it as a country, that's the example we set for everyone. Might means right.

It's pretty sad when I am more afraid of my fellow countrymen, than I am of terrorists...pretty sad...
